Do I need an appointment?

We always welcome walk-ins, however we highly recommend an appointment be made on Saturdays. We want to be able to give you our undivided attention, and making an appointment would ensure that. Appointments are also available outside store hours with special request.

Do you sell gowns off the rack?

Yes! We do not carry sample gowns in our store, so all of our gowns are available to be purchased off the rack. We handle our gowns with great care, so that they will be ready for your special day. This is wonderful if you do not have the time to order your wedding dress.

How many people should I bring to my bridal appointment?

You should bring the people whose opinions matters to you the most. However, too many people can often cause conflict and confusion for the bride. We suggest no more than 2-3.  We also have limited seating available and too many guests in a bridal appointment can get very cramped and chaotic.

Do you offer alterations?

Unfortunately we do not currently offer alterations. However, we do have local people that we recommend, and will be glad to give you their information.

What should I bring?

As a small shop we ask that you minimize the amount of items you bring. We recommend bringing appropriate undergarments; may include a strapless bra. If you are in need of spanx we do sell these at the shop. We also ask you to stay fragrance free for the benefit of our gowns as well as individuals in the shop.

How long does it take to order?

If you decide to order we ask that you order your bridal gown 6-7 months prior to the date of the wedding. Bridesmaids dresses should be ordered 4-6 months prior to the wedding. In saying this, we also offer rush shipping depending on the dress and wedding date.

Carolina Bride and Groom is a fragrance-free shop, and would appreciate our brides refraining from using heavy perfume or lotions. We also ask our brides to wear appropriate undergarments. Leggings and yoga pants will not be a substitute for underwear. Thank you!

Tips For Shopping

Carolina Bride and Groom

Carolina Bride and Groom has an urgent warning for all bargain buyers looking to purchase a gown online, whether it be bridal, prom, or social occasion dress.

If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Knock-off dresses are designed with the intent to defraud customers. We urge you to beware of counterfeits when shopping online.

Carolina Bride and Groom offers these tips to consumers:

  • The "Contact Us" page should provide a phone number and address (preferably in U.S.), not just an email address for customer service. If the site has a phone number or address in China, that's a red flag. Some U.S. numbers forward calls overseas.
  • In most cases, authorized retailers cannot accept returns unless there is a factory defect. Beware of sites offering full refunds for returns.

We recommend you practice caution when purchasing gowns on the internet. We take pride in our affordable prices, but understand the struggle of challenging economy, and the search for the best price. However, there is danger of you receiving a low quality dress, or no gown at all. If it is not an authorized retailer of a designer, do your best to stay away from it.
